Californians sent you to Sacramento to solve the state's many serious challenges. The Governor and the legislative leaders of both parties have reached an agreement to close the state's $26 billion budget gap. I am writing to ask you to support this plan.

This plan is a solution that moves California beyond this paralyzing budget crisis and gets us back on the right track, without raising taxes.

This plan also makes significant and painful cuts, but during these tough times it is essential for our state government to live within its means.

I applaud our leaders for recognizing that tax increases would have been devastating to California families and small businesses already struggling to make ends meet during these tough economic times.

This budget also makes some real reforms to state government that get to the heart of eliminating waste, fraud and abuse.
